With Luke Blondel and Callum Low being called up for first team duty, Town's second string were down to the bare bones, with only one substitute on the bench.

Town started the game brightly with Ryan Nunn and Ryan Gryniewicz working well done the left to create a couple of half chances for Baxter and Wilson up front.

However it was the home side that took the lead when the ball was launched forward by a Blues Club defender and the Town defence failed to deal with it. William Wood pulled off a save from the first shot, but the ball dropped to the feet of the other forward who slotted past the keeper on the rebound.

Town found themselves two down ten minutes later when the Blues Club winger managed to ride a tackle from James Blondel and curled the ball into the top right hand corner from the edge of the box.

The second half didn't get off to the best of starts when fifteen minutes in Josh Cheetham had to be replaced by Jamie Lamming after picking up and ankle injury.

But the change seemed to spark Town into action and they went onto put the home side onto the backfoot. Lee Wilson had a great opportunity to get one back but his shot was parried by the Blues Club keeper. The substitute, Jamie Lamming also had a a good opportunity when he vollied a cross from the left, only to be cleared by a defender on the line.

The home side killed the game off when they made it 3-0 with ten minutes to go. Town tried to push for a consolation but the Blues Club stood strong and managed to hold on to their clean sheet.

The reserves next fixture is away to Cherry Willingham on Saturday 12th October.
