The 1st team fell to their first defeat in thirteen games as Wyberton won 4-3 in an action packed encounter at The Causeway.

Wyberton 4-2 Horncastle Town (Stones, O.Johnson(p), Harness)

Stones gave Town the lead on eight minutes, but Town were pegged back by two Wyberton goals. Ollie Johnson scored from the spot before Scott Lowman was shown red for a late tackle, much to the astonishment of both sets of players and fans. Within minutes of the restart Tony Edwards was shown red for an elbow and Town were reduced to nine. The two man advantage for the home side looked to be taking its toll on Town as they found themselves 4-2 down with half an hour to play. However, the nine men of Town showed great fighting spirit and got a goal back with ten minutes to go thanks to a fine finish from substitute Michael Harness. With five minutes left, Stones appeared to be brought down in the box but the referee waved away appeals and Wyberton saw out the remainder of the game to win 4-3. An action packed game, unfortunately spoilt by some substandard officiating.
