DATE IN ONYX CUP FINAL FOR TOWNS U9’s
HTFC U9’s have made it through to the final of the ONYX CUP.
Towns U9’s have found their way in to the final of the Onyx Cup with a fantastic performance over local rivals in the knock out stages.
Sunday 6th November had the U9’s team take on top of the league Greenbank Bocas FC and with a 2-2 draw saw them then come up against Wyberton Colts FC. With a 1-1 draw against Wyberton Colts FC the team needed to come up with a win against Greenbank FC. Town found themselves 2-0 victors over Greenbank FC and through to the final of the Onyx Cup.
The coaching staff of Austen Chambers and Paul Danby are really proud of the great performance and determination of the team. Every player contributed to a fantastic achievement, Goal keeper Charlie Piper was brilliant in between the sticks, Towns defence of Max Pinkett and Jamie Spooner held their own and were exceptional. Max Danby with Ollie Brooks commanded the centre of midfield with Eli Paxton being superb on the wing. Joe Todd partnered Ed Chambers in attack and were on fire.
The ONYX Cup final is to be held on the 23rd April 2017 in a round robin format. The 4 teams taking part in the final are Horncastle Town, Swifts, North Lindum Hawks and Greenbank Bocas.
