Town become first team to win at The Vetigo Stadium

In front of a 100+ crowd Town took the 3 points back to the Wong thanks to a 3-2 scoreline.

Scott Lowman opened the scoring after 20 minutes when his shot took a slight deflection to wrong foot the home keeper.

Ten minutes before half time Skegness drew level as their striker fired into the roof of the net from close range.

On the hour mark Town restored their lead when ex Skeg player Liam Papworth found space at the back post to volley past the keeper.

Five minutes later it was Papworth again who found the back of the net with a 20 yard strike to extend Towns lead to 3-1.

The home side reduced the scoreline to 3-2 with the last kick of the game when they were awarded a dubious penalty.

The win puts Town six points behind Ruston Sports at the top of the table with a game in hand. The Lincoln based side can wrap up the title on Saturday if they beat Grimsby Borough Academy in their last match.

Town play their last home game of the season on Saturday against their Challenge Cup final opponents Immingham Town. Kick off on the Wong is at 3:00pm.
