It was a relatively even opening thirty minutes with both sides creating a handful of chances. Smith and Fidling were causing problems down the wing and Harness down the middle always posed a threat.

However, a classy free kick was a big moment in the game and when the home side doubled their lead five minutes later Town were given a big hill to climb.

Town enjoyed plenty of possession in the second half but last seasons runners up soaked up the pressure and saw the game out.
