Town Reserves are set to face Fulbeck Utd in the Lincoln League's Moorlands Railway Amateur Cup final on Thursday. 7pm k.o at Moorlands Sports Ground.

Town's second string will be looking to bring a piece of silverware home to The Wong for the second successive season as they come up against Fulbeck Utd in the Amateur Cup. Last season they managed to defy the odds and went onto beat CSA Ivy Tavern by an astounding five goals to nil to bring home the Challenge Cup.

This time round they are in action in another one of the League's cup competitions and having been knocked out of the challenge cup last month they will be hoping things go better this time around.

To reach the final, Town had to overcome Middle Rasen, Retford Town and The Blues Club. In the first round Town edged out Middle Rasen by a single goal thanks to a 70th minute header from the skipper, Scott Maplethorpe. The next round saw the wongers win by another close margin, this time by the odd goal in five. A first half penalty from Luke Blondel, and two second half goals from Josh Cheetham and Lewis Burchnall secured a place in the last four. In a repeat of last seasons Challenge Cup semi final, Town met The Blues Club of Gainsborough and the outcome was decided in the same way too, a penalty shootout. Fortunately for Town they held their nerve and won 5-3 on penalties to book their place in the Amateur Cup final.

Town go into the game with a similar squad to the semi final game. Luke Blondel has recovered from a broken arm and returns to the reserves along with his brother, James Blondel and Michael Harness who are the only three who weren't involved in the victory over the Blues Club. Unfortunately the team's top scorer Jack Baxter will be unable to take part after suffering a problem with a reoccurring knee injury which rules him out of the game.

The game kicks off at 7:00pm at Lincoln Moorlands Sports Ground (LN68RT).

Squad: Smith, Low, Marshall, Watson, Lewis, J.Blondel, Maplethorpe, Bodily, Lowman, Wilson, Cheetham, L.Blondel, Harness, Edwards, Burchnall.
