Horncastle Town U12s Mid Lincs C League

Town u12s started their season with an away game against Hykeham Tigers bees goals by Close(5),Dean(2),Wilson(2),Harrison and Walsh saw Town with a 11-2 victory.
The first of eight home games in either league or cup saw us host Ruskington .Town were victorious winning 6 -2.On the score sheet Wilson(2),Dean(2),Close and Pearce.
In the league cup we were drawn against Old Leake ,Town conceded an early goal and had it all do. Pearce made up for his earlier penalty miss with a fine first half hat trick.winning 3-1.
Cleethorpes Town were our next opponents in the county cup ,Town won the game 4-1 goals from Pearce(2),Offord and Harrison.
Navenby were the next vistors and Town saw themselves trailing at half time 2-1 ,towns goal was a fortunate own goal but a great 2nd half fight back started by Deans penalty ,Close also scored before yet another own goal. Town winning 4-2.
Next up were Metheringham and Town continued their great run at home eventually winning 5-3, goals by Wilson(2),Dean,Close and Clarke.
Back to the Lincs league cup saw Town take on B league team Ancaster Athletic.Town started off brightly at half time they were 4-0 up scoring the best four goals that we ever have. Offord ,Wilson,Close and Dean. After the restart Close scored again.Town won the game 5-2.
A 8-3 victory against East Coast saw Bargh score not only his first goal for the club he doubled it later on and was to be denied his hat trick by the flag.other scorers were Close(2),Wilson,Clarke,Pearce and a own goal.
Towns toughest opponents so far Old Leake,and what a great game, as both teams battled hard and also played some really good football.Town scored first Bargh finding the back of the net.Old Leake equalised then Dean restored Towns lead. Old Leake took control of the game not only scoring once but twice to take the lead at half time 2-3.Form striker Bargh scored again, with the game coming to an end Close scored a dramatic winner to take all the points.
Back to the County Cup and Town travelled to Grimsby to play Discoveries This was going to be a really tough fixture and it proved to be.Discoveries who top the u12s league in Grimsby have scored 78 goals in 9 games and had only conceded 7 were 4 - nil to the good at half time.The whistle blew for full time with Town losing 9-0.
