Town booked their place in the final of the Supplementary Cup after beating Wyberton on penalties

Wyberton had to play 70 minutes of normal time with 10 men as their striker was sent off for a high challenge on Steve Brown.

Richard Jackson had the chance to give Town the lead just before the break but his spot kick was saved by the home keeper.

Skipper Chris Johnson netted early in the second half to give Town the lead but with 5 minutes of normal time remaining the ten men of Wyberton sent the game into extra time.

Towns manager Andrew Shinn received his marching orders 10 minutes into extra time after another very high challenge. Neither team could create any real chances in the dying minutes so the dreaded penalty shootout awaited.

All four of Towns first four takers converted ( Nathan Rawdon,Scott Lowman, Michael Harness and Andy Bullivant) and two of Wybertons men were denied by keeper Lewis Burchnall the second of which to win the game sent the travelling Wongers into raptures.

Town will meet Grimsby Borough Academy in the final to be played at Sleaford Town on Friday April 20th

Town have no game next week and the week after (April 7th) head back to Wyberton to play their second cup semi final in the Challenge Cup.
